SANDY, UT—On Sunday, Taylor Meuwissen (#181) fell to eighth in his bid at the ISOC semi-professional open class race. Meuwissen dominated throughout the day, with fourth and first place finishes, respectively, in the first two heats. With just laps to go in the final round, Meuwissen maintained an impressive lead until he came into contact with another racer in the corner, knocking him from his sled and preventing him from a podium finish.
“That’s the way it goes,” stated Meuwissen. “We are all out there to win and when a guy gets in your way, it’s just the luck of the draw who comes out on top. Although I finished in the middle of the pack this weekend, I know that I have a lot of racing to go this season.”
Last week, Meuwissen put on an impressive display in Grand Lake, CO taking second in both the open and stock XRC classes. Meuwissen, who is gearing up for a two-month road tour, will have a hometown appearance in his next ISOC race in Shakopee, MN on January 22nd.
Shedding a positive light on the weekend, Meuwissen noted, “[my crew and I] had a long week preparing for this race. It’s always difficult getting your machine ready for the altitude and when you ride like I did, some insurance goes into your pocket knowing that you are ready to hit the different tracks and deal with the elements.”
CrashedToys.com, Meuwissen’s sponsor, is inviting snowmobiling enthusiasts to go to their website, review their sale offerings and enter to win a Wilmington Tailgate grill (valued at $800) which will be given away at the end of the season.
